ALENIA AERONAUTICA has inherited the vast experience of ALENIA AERONAVALI in the passenger to freighter conversion of DC-10, MD-10 and MD-11 tri-jet wide-body aircraft for major international airline operators.

Beside the cargo conversion, the MD-10 modification involves a substantial upgrade of aircraft equipment and avionics (ACF), with a new cockpit allowing the flight crew to be reduced from three members to two pilots.
Moreover, ALENIA AERONAUTICA is specialized in manufacturing and assembly of modification kits, having supplied - among other things - all 264 Large Cargo Doors installed on DC-10 and MD-11 cargo aircraft.
