The Alenia Aeronautica Anechoic Shielded Chamber (ASC) for High Intensity Radio Frequency (HIRF) tests is the largest and most modern of its kind in Europe.
The ASC is designed to study and verify electromagnetic compatibility of aircraft and other air or surface platforms. It is built with non-reflective, screening materials placed in such a way to exclude the outer electromagnetic world and eliminate the generation of echoes within, thus creating a realistic test environment of actual flight conditions.
Located at Turin-Caselle in the Ground Test Center, with which it shares infrastructures and technical facilities, the ASC can accommodate aircraft up to Eurofighter or Tornado size.
